A new year is upon us. After the rush of the holidays, January is a time for reflection and resolve. Usually, our resolutions reflect a lack in our lives. We swear to stop eating junk, to wake up earlier, or to finally stop binging that terrible reality TV show. Those resolutions are all fine and good, but is this year, instead of trying to subtract something from our lives, we’ve decided to add to it. We’d like to challenge you to make this year the best yet by expanding yourself as well. Here are a few ways that you can have a better year with cannabis.
Try a New Hobby
There are so many different hobbies to try, but one unique treasure we have right here on Whidbey is Callahan’s Firehouse. Nope. We’re not talking about taking up firefighting in your spare time, Callahan’s Firehouse is a glass blowing studio and gallery. They have everything from blown glass pumpkins to gorgeous water glasses, but the best part is that you can make an appointment to blow a glass object of your own. Check out the video on their main page. It looks awesome, and anyone can do it. And, who knows, maybe one day you’ll get good enough to blow your own glass weed pipe.
Widen Your Circle
The great thing about cannabis is that it can be such a social hobby. Smoke circles are as old as smoking itself, and there’s nothing quite like companionably passing a joint between friends. This year, try going out of your way to add more people to that circle. Introduce an old friend to cannabis or make a new friend and invite them to the party. Exchange favorite strains and check out new ways of consuming cannabis. Pot may feel like it’s been legal forever these days, but some people still aren’t convinced. What better way to convert inquiring minds than to allow them to experience it with a group of people who are knowledgeable and love that good green weed?
The beginning of a new year is a great time to embark on a new project. Break out those oil paints that have been gathering dust, find that long abandoned crochet project, or start your first novel. No matter what your passion project is, weed can help you relax and be more creative. Talk to one of our knowledgeable budtenders about the best strains for creativity or peruse Leafly’s suggest creativity strains. (And no, we don’t recommend embarking on your new glass blowing adventure after smoking. Save the cannabis for when you’re well away from molten glass!)
